WEEK-AT-A-GLANCE
MRS. NORTON'S NOTES
This edition of the 6th grade Parent Update marks the end of the year.
We have been working overtime to prepare the schedule for next year. We hope to have class choices out this week for students to choose their elective classes.
Enjoy your summer, and we will see you again in the fall.

CLASS UPDATES
We got an overview of each civilization through videos, reading, discussions, and notes. Students ended the week taking a “field trip” to Machu Picchu, an ancient Inca city. It’s been a great year and so fun to get to know students better and see all of them grow in many ways! Next year we will wrap up with some reflections and games.
Students are in the final stages of their Community Action Plans (CAP) this week and many students have now completed Expert Interviews with local community members about climate change, bullying, racism, oil spills, and many other issues that students chose. Each student is creating a persuasive brochure and a pledge for local action that can be taken to mitigate their issue.
