Pre-Recorded Ceremony
Here's how the video distribution will work this weekend. On Saturday at 3 p.m., the pre-recorded videos will go live on the Dublin City Schools Youtube channel. We will also post on Facebook and Twitter. We will promote heavily leading up to the Saturday premiere.
Graduation Procession and In-Person Diploma Reception
Sunday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m., we will be providing seniors with an opportunity to walk across an outdoor stage and receive their diploma in-person. This drive-through procession will be carefully socially distanced The event is expected to take several hours and will take place in phases. We remain under strict orders not to facilitate any mass gatherings at this point in time.
PLEASE SEE MAPS AND DETAILS BELOW FOR THIS EVENT
- The plans have been approved by the health department and we will take precautions to keep all students, families, and staff safe.
- All working staff will be wearing masks.
- Graduates will not have to wear a mask but family members are encouraged to wear masks.
Graduate Procession Details (Updated!)
Vehicles:
- Graduates and their families should arrive in a passenger vehicle. The graduate should be on the passenger side of the vehicle and other family members may ride in the car.
- ONE CAR/Student will be permitted. Families with multiple graduates may discuss special arrangements with the building principal if needed.
- Families and graduates are encouraged to decorate their vehicles (please no limos or extra large vehicles). The tent has a 8' height clearance.
- You will be entering under the tent to be as close to the experience as possible.
Arrival:
- Families will arrive during staggered assigned WAVE TIMES.
- WE WILL BEGIN EACH WAVE PROMPTLY.
- We will not assemble in strict alphabetic order just in a general wave grouping.
- If a graduate arrives late, they will be moved to the next wave.
Graduates and Family:
- Graduates should dress appropriately under their cap and gown. Don't forget your awards and tassel. SENIORS MAY ALSO DECORATE THEIR CAPS. This is not typically allowed but due to the circumstances, we encourage seniors to do something creative and fun to celebrate. Please be sure they are school appropriate.
- No family members will be permitted to get out of the car. The student will re-join their family in the car and follow the continuous route and exit the school property.
