We are Thankful for our Sierra Vista Community!
We have had a great start to the second semester at Sierra Vista. Great things have been happening all around campus! Yesterday, over 440 students received Principal Honor Roll letters commending them for their academic achievement during quarter 2! We are so proud of 33 students that through their hard work and focus on academics have been reclassified as English Proficient by the state/district!
We opened 10 of our new classrooms at the start of the new semester! Each classroom has two 70 inch monitors, ample space for students, and are warm and inviting. We are thrilled with the additional landscaping and hardscape additions around the new construction area. This has provided a softer touch to our campus and provides additional seating options for students to enjoy. Our anticipated final move in for the remaining 11 classrooms should take place in mid-March.
We are beginning to work on a Grand Opening celebration to coincide with our annual Open House on March 28, 2019. So please save the date and come visit with your students' teachers and enjoy a visit to our new campus additions.
We appreciate our students continuing to work hard to get to each class on time. With the opening of new classrooms, there is ample time for students to make it to all their classes and the walk is MUCH SHORTER! We appreciate their patience and flexibility last fall. Every student is to be commended for their positive attitude with the construction!
We look forward to a wonderful February at SV and lots of great activities taking place on campus. Teachers and students are continuing their academic focus on mastery of standards as we inch closer to state testing in May. Please encourage your student to stay motivated, turn in all assignments, seek teacher support, attend after-school homework club, and Plainsmen Progress Day! We want students to SUCCEED!
Thanks so much for all your support! You play a huge role in our efforts toward student achievement. Together We Succeed.
With gratitude to you all!
