This week's activities!
Dear Parents and Families,
This week brings us many exciting activities that I wanted to make you aware of and dates to remember.
Within our ELA block, students will be learning about different holiday traditions and customs. Please make sure that if you have not already returned your holiday tradition questionnaire, you do so by Wednesday so we can discuss individual traditions at the end of the week.
We will also be reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Here is a brief review of the story (courtesy of Amazon.com book reviews):
Grade 2–6—Barbara Robinson's classic (Joanna Cotler, 1972) just gets better with this new reading. The Herdman's—Ralph, Imogene, Leroy, Claude, Ollie, and Gladys—are the town bullies who steal and smoke cigars. When they show up for the church Christmas pageant try-outs, no one is able to discourage them from participating. To the protests of children who think they can do better, the Herdmans land the starring roles in the Christmas play.
Within math, we are reviewing multiplication facts and previous topics that we have discussed (subtraction with regrouping).
Please make sure that kids study multiplication throughout the break.
Additional activities include:
Class Celebration on Friday! We are accepting donations to our celebration and are in need of cookies, chips, cupcakes, fun-size candies...
We wish you a safe and happy holiday break!
