School Report Card

Our 2019-20 school profile is posted on our school webpage under About Us>School Profile>Oregon Report Card. There is also a link on this page to school profiles for other years and other schools. The 2019-20 district profile is posted on the district report card webpage.

State report cards began when the 1999 Oregon Legislature passed a law requiring every public school and district to receive a report from the Oregon Department of Education about how they are performing overall. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015, replaces the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and affords states greater flexibility. ESSA encourages schools and educators to innovate and create systems that address local needs. As a part of this work, the Oregon Department of Education redesigned the School and District report cards to engage and inform families about their school’s approach to learning, academic and extracurricular offerings, and student performance. Reports cards also serve as an important tool for continuous improvement planning by local and state policymakers, in conjunction with the communities they serve.

The 2019-20 school and district profiles do not include statewide assessment data, class size data, or attendance data as a result of the necessary statewide school closures and the implementation of Distance Learning for All. The profiles present all available data not impacted by the state’s response to COVID-19.

At Elmonica WE are committed to using this information to help tailor our school improvement plans and academic programs to meet the needs of every student. You’ll find our current school improvement plan here: During the year I will communicate with you frequently about student achievement and programs in place at our school to foster student learning and success.

Boleta de calificaciones de la escuela

Las boletas de calificaciones también sirven como una herramienta importante para la planificación de mejoras continuas por parte de los políticos locales y estatales, en conjunto con las comunidades a las que sirven.

Los perfiles de las escuelas y los distritos para el período 2019-20 no incluyen datos de evaluaciones a nivel estatal, datos sobre el tamaño de las clases o datos de asistencia como resultado de los necesarios cierres de escuelas a nivel estatal y la implementación de la Educación a Distancia para Todos. Los perfiles presentan todos los datos disponibles no afectados por la respuesta del estado a COVID-19.

Elmonica PTO purchases portable desks and materials to build desks

We live in an amazing and caring community! Our PTO has supported students in need of small portable desks to manage their school work at home in small spaces. Pictured here is a desk built and donated by an Elmonica parent. You are truly appreciated for your kindness. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Elmonica Playground

We have been notified that the public is allowed to use the playground. Parents are assuming all risk if electing to use the playground during the school closure from Covid-19. Restroom facilities and any building access are not allowed at this time. Enjoy!

MILAGRO THEATER DIGITAL PRODUCTION

Elmonica Families,

We have the amazing opportunity to have access to a bilingual play Blast Off! brought to us by the Milagro Theater right here in the PNW!

As the premier Latino arts and culture center of the Pacific Northwest, Milagro has provided extraordinary Latino theatre, culture, and arts education for the enrichment of all communities since 1985. Through a grant, they are presenting a bilingual digital production to our students, family, and communities.

The production, Blast Off! is about a young passionate girl, Valentina, who has been recently inspired by the first Latina astronaut, Dr. Ellen Ochoa. Valentina is now dreaming of a big, bright future of becoming an astronaut—one that many think is impossible, especially for a young Latina.
