Dear DPM Families,
We had a jam-packed week at Deer Path!
We hope that everyone had a fun Halloween. We had a lot of great costumes at Deer Path this year. Additionally, we celebrated our annual Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) celebration supported by our Spanish Club. The ornate ofrenda honored our deceased loved ones in a special way. Thank you to our club sponsors, Amy Infanzon and Maureen Madden, for organizing this beautiful tribute. Check out the photos below for some fun DPM memories.
On Tuesday (5/6) and Thursday (7/8), we also hosted our second Paws for Patrick visits. This was with a smaller, more targeted group of students. Their next visit will be with all students in a given grade level. We will continue to provide both small and large group meetings with the dogs as the year progresses.
Congratulations to the DPM Debate Team! Last night they placed first in their very first conference debate tournament. Extra congratulations to the following individual award winners: Rayna Patel, Madeleine Lillis, Suryan Patel, Alice Curruthers, and Rylin Nagory.
We are looking forward to another great week of learning next week, but please note that there is no school on Tuesday and Friday for our students.

Construction Update
ComEd’s bridge contractor notified the City that Deerpath Road only needs to be closed for one weekend (instead of two) in order for ComEd to install the new bike path bridge. Deerpath Road will remain open this weekend and will not be closing on Friday at 9 am as originally planned.
In addition to ComEd, IDOT is completing work along the Deerpath Road corridor over the next few weeks. Here's what to expect:
Deerpath Road Final Resurfacing and Striping: Planned for the Week of Nov. 7
IDOT’s contractor plans to finish resurfacing Deerpath Road during the week of November 7. The final steps (priming the pavement, placing asphalt, and striping the roadway) are expected to take several days. Expect intermittent lane closures and traffic delays during this work. Dates are weather dependent and subject to change.
One Lane of Traffic on Deerpath Road: Planned for One Day the Week of Nov. 7
Deerpath Road will have intermittent lane closures between Ahwahnee Lane and Route 41 with flaggers directing traffic. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times. These intermittent closures are necessary for ComEd’s contractor to pour the bridge’s concrete support walls. While the exact date depends on weather, this work is expected to occur the week of Nov. 7 and will take one day.- Full Deerpath Road Closure: Planned for Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 pm through Monday, Nov. 21 at 5 am
Deerpath Road will be completely closed between Ahwahnee Lane and Route 41 for the new bridge deck to be lifted and placed on the support walls. Deerpath Road will remain open to local traffic from Green Bay Road to Ahwahnee Lane. Drivers are encouraged to use Green Bay Road south to Westleigh Road to access both Route 41 and Waukegan Road.
Math Resource Center
If students are attending our Math Resource Center - MRC - before or after school, please remind them to sign up through Schoology. There is a large number of students attending MRC (yay!), and to make it effective for everyone, students should come with specific work, questions and materials for which they want support. Thank you!
These schedules are also posted on Schoology math class pages.
Winter MAP Testing
District 67 students in grades 2-8 will take the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) during November 28 to December 9. MAP is a Common Core-aligned, adaptive, computer-based assessment. This nationally normed assessment is designed to measure growth over time in the areas of reading and math. The district utilizes the achievement and growth data from MAP to inform instructional planning for individuals and groups of students; and measure growth from year-to-year.
Check Lost and Found
Students should check all lost & found areas at DPM: West office, East office, Wellness, and Cafeterias. When we come back from Winter Break, all remaining items will be donated.
District News
Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) 2022
ISA scores for students currently in grades 6 and 9 were mailed early this week. Student overall and domain scores on the individual reports are accurate. There was a data error from ISBE that caused the state, district, and school sections of the report to read inaccurately.
