Staff Update

Recovery
Next week, daily Recovery sessions begin. Fingers crossed we communicate to them that turning work in on time is imperative.
Construction Updates From the Weekend
- Dividers are hung in all classrooms. I have inquired about the 2-inch gap at the bottom of each of them.
- Band room finished. Work order is submitted for instruments to be brought to Bally. Need to find out where they instrument storage is.
- Choir room finished. Need to set up with risers and furniture on Tuesday morning.
- Tech work occurred over the weekend as well.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
- We will calibrate Kickboard on Thursday in PBIS and adjust some of the settings to go into effect on September 10th. We can discuss at 7:15am or 2:45pm on Friday with everyone if you'd like an in-person debrief.
- The new schedule with extra minutes before 5th and after 5th begins on Tuesday. Please let us know if this helps fix the end of the day "longness" and kids' concern about short locker breaks.
- We have September 26th cleared with Cooper and our elementary schools to have a curriculum night. Wanted to give you guys some time before we have parent meetings.
What do you think about this plan (below)?
Star Data
READING--On path to proficiency
6th: 66%
7th: 72%
8th: 77%
Any student not on path to proficiency should be assigned an IXL path. We will communicate this in the next few weeks.
MATH--On path to proficiency
6th: 69%
7th: 68%
8th: 81%
Any student not on path to proficiency should be assigned an IXL path. We will communicate this in the next few weeks.
Please be thinking about these numbers as we have discussions over the course of the next few months and as we begin to set goals for our kids. My personal goal for our kids is 80% or higher on path to proficiency in both subject areas by 2020.
