Pics and items for social media

Please keep sharing photos and videos with Ms. Wagers of you scholars doing great things. We would love to feature them on our social media and website. Please be sure to include a short description of what your scholars are doing when you send the photos. Make sure that staff and scholars need to have their masks being worn correctly for the pictures to be used.

2 Consecutive Absences- EXPECTATION

We we have scholars who are gone for 2 days in a row, and we have not heard from the family- here is the expectation of teachers:

  • It it's day 2, and showing "unexcused" in Tyler, the TEACHER needs to call home to check in on the student. If they answer, ensure everything is fine, and remind the family to call the office when their child will not attend school
  • If they do NOT answer, and you have not heard from them by any other means, CONTACT THE OFFICE and let Nuvia or DeNeisse know that you were unable to make contact
  • If after checking in with the family and touching base with the office, then admin will determine if a home visit is warranted and act accordingly.

There is not wiggle room/room for error in this expectation. Please reach out if you have questions.

Return Dates From Quarantine- OR Notes to return- PLEASE READ!

If you have a scholar on quarantine, please watch the "anticipated return date" VERY carefully! We had several scholars come to school today that should not have been here. If you go to take attendance- and it is showing "excused/quarantine", and they are here, they probably should not be, and the office needs to be called. We can verify that for you.

If you have a scholar who went home with a symptom and needs a note to return, we need to verify that they have that note. Please make sure you are helping us monitor that.

If a scholar brings a note back or are cleared to be in class, that you make sure you double check with Nuvia that we change their absence in Tyler to reflect they are here.

We appreciate your help with ensuring that protocols are being followed, dates are being adhered to, and that attendance is correct.

Morning Meetings and Mindfulness

It is a basic expectation that ALL classrooms are conducting morning meetings, teaching social skills, and conducting a mindfulness activity EACH AND EVERY MORNING! This is blocked off on your master schedule for you, and should be taking place between 8:40 & 9:00 everyday. (Unless you are 5th grade- who goes to PE/Music at 8:45- you are at a separate time of the day) Please ensuring this is occurring and if you need help, please reach out to your team or Ms. Wagers for assistance.

Scholars on Quarantine

Beginning Monday, September 13, quarantined scholars will have to log on with the district's zoom teachers to be counted as remote. We discussed this with classroom teachers last week. Kaylee will continue to send you the information you need about anticipated return dates, what day assignments to send in See Saw, and the letter that will go to the parents of those scholars. If you have any questions as these situation arise, please just ask! The are linked here for your convenience as well. We're happy to help!

Care Call Reminders & Tiered Behaviors

When calling the office for a care call, please be sure that you are stating what you are calling for when talking with Nuvia & DeNeisse. Also, as a reminder, Care Calls are for Tier 3 behaviors. Tier I & 2 behaviors are to be teacher managed. If you are struggling with recurring Tier 2 behavior, then your next step is to reach out to Ashley for support. Please be sure to do this PRIOR to feeling like you are at a crisis level with a scholar! We want to help you!

Breakfast Reminder

Please be sure to check in with your scholars in the morning to ensure they have had the opportunity to eat breakfast. If they have not, or arrived late, please send them to the cafeteria for late breakfast if they wagons are no longer available. Please make sure your scholars know this is an option as well.

Custodial- Classrooms at the end of the day and misc. items

This is a reminder to PLEASE have your scholars pick up your classroom floors/cubbie areas and put up the chairs so the night time TEMP service can clean your classrooms! Please do you part to ensure our building and classrooms stay looking clean and tidy.

It would also be helpful if you could set our your UV lights after your scholars leave and get them plugged in. That way, the custodial staff can just turn them on.

New spray bottles are on the way! We are just waiting on the shipment!

Point Sheets/Behavior Plans

Please ensure that if you have a scholar on a point sheet or plan that they travel with that scholar to other classes! You also need to make sure that the receiving teachers are aware of the plan, so they can support you!!

Social Committee Information

Social Committee exists in order to create unity among staff. We have such amazing staff that need to be recognized for all for their hard work and dedication, it is imperative that we have everyone participate in a committee.

Attached you will find the Social Committee sign up sheet. Please sign up for at LEAST one committee that you are willing to help with this year. You can sign up for more than one if you wish. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Also...social committee dues are as follows: Certified staff - $20 and Classified staff - $10...you can use https://paypal.me/pools/c/8hnGhQGyx9, cash, or check (made out to Jardine Social Committee. Cash (please put your name on it) and checks can be placed in my mailbox. If you could take care of that by October, that would be great.

We are bringing back "JAG Pride Time"!! This is a time of the week that every classroom takes some time to have their class pick up/clean/organize a part of the school! The hope is that this will increase our scholar's pride in our school and help with ownership of our building! Here is the link to the schedule. "JAG Pride Time". You have been assigned a day and an area of the school. YOU can decide the time that works best in your schedule on that day!
