The Odyssey
March 3rd, 2023

From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
Attendance Madness will be out take on the famed NCAA Basketball tournament! What is this you ask? MQSCA has created an 11 team double elimination bracket that will have classes face off against each other based on weekly attendance. Mr. Zeller and I poured over our attendance data so far this year and ranked each classroom 1(best) through 11(lowest). This battle begins Monday, March 6, and great prizes will be given to the classes that that make it to the end! The next 9 weeks of attendance for your students are crucial! Fist prize will have a full feature film along with a pizza party for the class. Second place will be a full feature film and a Sunday bar. Third and Fourth place will have popcorn parties with a shorter film.
Stations of the Cross During Lent:
Each Friday during Lent students will participate in student led Stations of the Cross. Parents and families are welcome to join us at 2:30pm.
In Christ-
Mr. Lee

Home & School Organization
We value each of you as a partner in your child's education. We are looking to start a Home & School Organization at MQSCA. Our goal is to strengthen the partnership between families and school, so together we can help provide a quality education for all of our children. The organization will serve two functions at our school: build a sense of community and lead fundraising efforts to enhance our school climate.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help carry out the many activities that go on at our school. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, get involved in your child's education, and give back to the school. We work as a team to create events around your ideas, unique talents, and availability. The commitment will include participating in monthly meetings and assisting with planning and facilitating events. Events may be anything that brings families together or improves our school like a spring dance, Teacher Appreciation Week activities, car wash, movie nights, picnics, a restaurant fundraiser, and much more!
If interested in participating, please send an email to Jill Klein, School Counselor, at kleinj@mqscateacher.org.

Scripture of the Week:
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
1 Corithians 9:24-25
Prayer of the Week:
St. John of God, when you heard the message of the gospel, you gave up a life of sin and converted to a life in Christ. Pray for me that I may abandon the things in my life that are keeping me from God. Please pray for those who have fallen away from the faith that they may come to know the saving love of Christ.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
