From the Nest...
The year is quickly moving along and we are fast approaching the time of the school year where intermediate students, in grades 3, 4, and 5, will demonstrate their learning through the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) in reading and mathematics, as well as Science for our fifth grade students. Our fifth graders will be taking the Science portion the week of March 4th. All intermediate grades will be taking the Reading and Math portions shortly after we return from Spring Break. A schedule for those testing dates will be coming soon.
We wanted to take time to remind you of the importance of ensuring your child has a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast on testing days. Additionally, please avoid scheduling appointments during these testing windows so that student assessments are not interrupted.
These assessments are one critical piece tied to our Maryland State Report Card. Another critical piece is our Attendance. As you can see in our Attendance Update below, this is an area we have been struggling with lately. While we know that illnesses are still going around, we encourage you to send your child(ren) to school every day that they are healthy enough to be here!
As always we thank you for your support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Hannah Feldman & Lisa Wrzesinski

- 96% or higher = green
- 93.1% - 95.9% = yellow
- under 93% = red
We thank you for supporting us in meeting our attendance goals by ensuring students are coming to school on time and every day that they are able to!
Reminder - Dismissal Change Procedures
New this year, students must be picked up by 3:00 pm if you would like them through the front office. After that time, you will need to get into the Car Rider line to pick up your child. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring our dismissal process is as smooth as possible.
