Sunday and Every Day: Taking it Home
Last Sunday we had Family Chapel on the theme of Trust. We made Valentine's to send to a local domestic violence shelter, made paper chains of promises, or tried out a Trust Walk.
Discuss it at home:
- What makes a person worthy of your trust? What makes you worthy of others' trust? How can we be trust worthy people? How do we care for trust?
- What else can we trust? Can we trust Love? Nature? In the future?
- What does trust give us? Is it good to trust?
Spiritual Practice:
Meditate on spreading love:
Place your hand over your anatomical heart, and concentrate on feeling your heart beat as you slow your breathing and get comfortable.
Now picture your heart just radiating with love. See it glowing. Breath and feel it beat.
Now let that love fill your whole body. your whole being. Breath and feel your heart beat, sending that love pumping through you.
Now send the love out to fill the room, the house, then the whole neighborhood. Love touches everyone. Breath and feel your heart beat.
Send your love even farther … to the whole world, to all living beings, the animals, the people, everything. Breath and feel your heart beat.
Hold that love for as long as you like, and then gently soften your concentration and return to your own heart beat. Your love for the world still lives in there. Breath.
