Hybrid Model Update

Hello Maybury Parents, Guardians & Scholars,

Please see the attached letter regarding our hybrid model opening beginning tomorrow, November 9th, 2020!

****A+ Arts Maybury Campus is changing to the Hybrid model effective November 9th, 2020! We will have scholars grouped and classified by A days (Monday & Tuesday) , B days (Thursday and Friday), and C Days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Our building will be closed every Wednesday to allow for deep sanitation and cleaning. Teachers will use Wednesday's to check in with scholar's and provide 1:1 and/or small group assistance as needed via the virtual environment or by phone. Be sure that your scholar is ONLY attending on his/her SCHEDULED day(s). In order to ensure we maintain numbers and follow social distancing protocols, we need your HELP in adhering strictly to the schedules you have received!

Please remember to use the LATEST bus route update sent to you by Columbus City Schools Transportation unit! Disregard any previously sent routes.

**Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00-2:00 pm. The front office will close promptly at 2:00 pm each day to allow time to prepare for dismissal.**

For those scholars who will remain 100% virtual, breakfast and lunch pickup for the week will continue to be done on Mondays ONLY from 10:00-2:00 pm.

We have had a change in our 5/6 ELA & Social Studies teacher as well as our 5/6 Math & Science Teacher. Mr. Bran-Den Bailey will be the teacher of record for ELA & Social Studies for the remainder of the year and our search continues for a highly qualified and certified Math & Science Teacher. A formal letter is forthcoming for the families of all 5/6 scholars.

New Hybrid Schedule

The virtual schedule is no longer being followed as all staff members will be following our hybrid schedule. You should have already received a copy of the schedule from your scholar's teacher and a link is included here below for your convenience. All teachers have a slightly different schedule, so be sure to click on your scholar's specific teacher instead of looking by grade level!

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

  • Please remember that we have a ONE WAY parking lot so you must enter and exit from the appropriately marked signs!
  • Ensure that your scholar remains in YOUR vehicle UNTIL he/she has received a temperature check and we have confirmed they are good to enter the building. No scholar will be allowed to enter without a temperature check and for covid-19 reasons, we are not allowing adults to enter the building at this time. We want to minimize the amount of traffic within the building to keep everyone as safe as possible.
  • All scholars MUST come to school with a FACE MASK. A mask is REQUIRED to enter the building and be on the premises. Please speak with your scholar about the importance of keeping his/her mask on for the duration of the day outside of the supervised and scheduled mask break times.
  • All scholars K-6, with the EXCEPTION of Bus Riders & Walkers, will enter through our main doors. Bus riders & Walkers will enter from the side entrance into the cafeteria/gym where they will receive a temperature check and then proceed to class.

**Lastly, please provide some grace and patience this week as we try to navigate working within this new model. We know that pickup and drop off may not go as smoothly as we want it to these first couple of days, but our goal is to improve each day and simply be better tomorrow than we were today!**

Water Bottles

We encourage all families to send your scholar with a water bottle as the drinking fountains are all closed. We have had some water donated to us for emergencies, however it would be best if your scholar came with his/her own personal bottle.

Welcome to Kickboard!

We are officially using Kickboard to track scholar behavior. Kickboard is replacing Class Dojo and we will be phasing Dojo out over the next few weeks. All teachers have reached out and provided Kickboard access codes so please take a minute and enter your scholar's code so that you can stay in communication with your scholar's teacher and know how your scholar is doing day to day! More information on Kickboard is included below.
