Chinese Masks

Background History

Masks are things that resemble a general being, whether it's an animal, god, normal person, or a random creature. Chinese masks are thought to have originated in ancient religious ceremonies. They are made of driftwood, animal skins, bones and feathers.

Mask Stylization

The Chinese masks seem to very often represent both animals and humans within them. They also use a very large range of color but seem to focus on red and yellow a lot. There style is they enjoy making there masks after one specific thing, like a person, animal, or god like creature. They use shape and form in the masks as well as emphasis.
