January 23, we will have ambassador wolves coming in for a presentation as students begin working on a cross-curricular Biology and English project. Students will be examining the hot topic of whether wolves should be reintroduced in our state or not. They will be focusing on many aspects of ecology and researching a variety of topics! Project Based Learning Experience- Spring 2020
Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
SSAE High School Team is excited to announce our Project Based Learning Experience for Spring 2020! This year our focus for the high school students 9th, 10th, and 11th grades is a Zoo Exhibit Design Project, which will be incorporating science, technology, engineering, math, English, and history subjects. The project will kick off right before Spring Break and go through the end of the school year. The finale will be Tuesday, May 12, 2020, and it will entail the students presenting their final design proposals to an audience of conservation groups, zookeepers, and people who frequent the zoo. Students will report to school just like usual to work on this group project. The inbuilding daily schedule will reflect the regular schedule as well as incorporate the PBL schedule. This is not additional inbuilding work, but replacing that work with this amazing cross-curricular opportunity. Students will receive in building grades just like usual through various steps they will be taking to complete this project. The high school will even take a field trip to the zoo as well as reach out to community resources for research. Please mark your calendars for this important and fun project as parents and the community are invited to attend the finale on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. More information will be coming.
