Debate Team

The Druid Hills debate team will be traveling to Drew Charter High School this Saturday for their third debate tournament of the season.

The Druid Hills team had a great day at their second tournament at Campbell High School. All three Druid Hills teams won team awards:

Out of 38 competing teams,

19th place - John Higgins and Aamir Surani

18th place - Elias Mast and Lemuel Maimoo

and winning the tournament in 1st place was William Wainwright and Matt Gilroy.

Druid Hills also won the following speaker awards:

Out of 75 total speakers:

Elias Mast - 21st place

Matt Gilroy - 8th place

Aamir Surani - 4th place

and the best speaker of the tournament,

William Wainwright - 1st place!

Congratulations Druid Hills Debate Team for a job well done! Good luck this Saturday!!


  • Schedule change requests for second semester will be available the week of November 22-December 1st. Students will receive their second semester schedule upon returning from Thanksgiving and a google form will be utilized for course change requests. Course change requests will be due through the google form by December 1st.

Upcoming Event for Senior Families--FAFSA Completion Night November 14th at 6 PM in the Media Center. Students should sign up in the counseling office if you plan to attend.


November 14th from 6-7PM in the Media Center Georgia Student Finance representatives will be here to help students and parents complete the FAFSA Application.

What to bring?

  • Your FSA ID (You must create this at fsaid.ed.gov PRIOR to November 14th)
  • Parental 2016 Tax information including 1040, 1040A, or 1040ez along with the W2



  • November 14th at 6 PM is the FAFSA Completion Night at Druid Hills in the media center.
    • Make sure your parents are aware of this opportunity if they need help completing the FAFSA. You must create your FSA ID (student and parent) on www.fafsa.ed.gov prior to attending.
    • If you plan on attending, please sign up in counseling.
