A Wet Subject
Duckweed
They are floating to get enough energy for photosynthesis. Duckweed forms one of the most territorially aggressive groups of aquatic vegetation. It utilizes large air pockets in its cells, in addition to tiny hairs that trap additional air for floating. It reproduces mainly through its vegetative growth with seeds and dormant vegetative buds.
Algae
Its color help it blend in with the bottom of the ocean to protect itself from predators. They have special cells which cause their color so they can better use the sunlight. They reproduce asexually.
Kelp
Kelp need to withstand the force of water currents so the roots dig deep in the dirt to keep them from drifting anywhere. They have strong, fast growing stems where photosynthesis takes place. Kelp is a protist so reproduces either sexually or asexually.
