A Message from the Principal
9-13-21
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
Thank you to all the families that turned in their Family Virtue Leaf! Soon they will be hanging on our “I am the Vine, you are the branches” art installation in our library which is a visual representation of the virtuous strength of our HFCS community.
Thank you to Mary Ellen Price and Olivia Reed for leading the 4th grade class in prayer this morning. They choreographed hand motions to go along with a rhyme about Saint Teresa of Calcutta from Saintly Rhymes for Modern Times by Meghan Bausch.
In India, Teresa
received a holy call
to help “the poorest of the poor”
in ways both great and small.
She loved those who were homeless,
hungry, orphaned and ignored.
She showed that what we do for them
we do for Christ our Lord.
This morning the candidates for Middle School Leadership Council gave their campaign speeches to all the middle school students in our library. After the speeches the students cast their votes for the council. Mrs. Price is the moderator of the Middle School Leadership Council, and she is happy to announce the students who have been elected to this organization.
5th Grade: David Garcia, Presley Matlock, Rosie Pearson, Emma Circelli and Tory Luna
7th Grade: John Cote, Addie Roels, Tuesday Hiett, Milla Saba, Samantha Lopez, Kaitlyn Szostek, and Mary Elle Price.
8th Grade: Jude Pierce and Alexa Gottlieb
Family Fun Night had a great turn out and everyone had a good time gathering as a community in the gym to play bingo and minute-to-win it games. Thank you for joining the fun!
Volleyball is off and running! 8th grade had a great game against XXXX and lost by XX points. 7th grade lost their game against Sr. Andrew by one point in each game, yet, won their game last Friday against All Saints. Go Hornets!
We have noon dismissal this Friday, September 17, so that parents and students can participate in Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences in the afternoon. I highly encourage you to include your child/ren in the conferences, as we encourage students to take ownership in their academic goal setting. HFCS will not have after school care on Friday.
Join HFCS at the hospitality table after all the Masses next Sunday, September 19, to help raise awareness of North Texas Giving Day.
