The 19th Amendment

Women's Suffrage

What was it:

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

Any gender can vote.

Why is it still important?

Its important today because women now have the right to vote like men unlike back in the old days. Back then women could not vote.

Passed by Congress June 4, 1919 and ratified on August 18,1920.
