Here are the students who earned the Student of the Month award for April:
Art- Emily Nack & Anthony Higginbotham
Music – Sierra Voigt
PE – Aaron Nehls

Spanish – Leva Juodeikis
Social Studies – Marisa Schmit
Science- Tayten Platner
CTE- Levi Brooks
Outstanding Student-Mitchell Bustamante
Recently, we surveyed all seniors to determine how many individuals will be attending the graduation ceremony on May 22nd. Based on the results the graduation will be held in the OHS gym. Specifically, the survey results show that we are expecting 650+ attendees for graduation (graduates, family, and staff). This does not include any community members, current students, or other interested attendees. While the Fine Arts Center is an outstanding facility for future graduations with smaller classes, we believe the OHS gym location will best accommodate the large numbers.
The Commencement Exercise will take place at 1 pm in the OHS Gymnasium. Doors will open for guest seating at 12:15pm. Seniors are asked to arrive at 12:30pm and go to the library.

COVID-19 Reporting Form
As we move into the conclusion of the school year, we wanted to share another reminder along with a reporting form related to the COVID-19 procedures and information:
As shared within the updated isolation and quarantine guidance from the health department, a reminder that the school and health department recommend that an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 wear a mask on days 6-10, if they are no longer isolating.
We are utilizing a NOSD COVID-19 Reporting Form (see link below) to simplify and streamline reporting. If your child or a household family member has symptoms of COVID-19 and/or tested positive for COVID-19, please complete this form as your first step. Also remember to call your school secretary to report any absence. This simple form will allow a member of our team to reach out to you with your child’s specific return dates.

Vaping-Call to Action!
Ozaukee High School remains fully invested in our students' health and wellness. Over the past year, vaping has re-emerged as an ongoing issue within our youth in this country, in this state, and in our schools. This is unhealthy, dangerous, and it has to be understood in order to STOP it. Our school and district has several measures that we implement to try to create a vape free school:
-Frequent monitoring and response to reports of vaping.
-Working with our liaison officer, Deputy Holzer to address concerns around vaping.
-School imposed consequences including suspensions, fines, and citations with required court assessment.
-Working with families and medical professionals to educate about the dangers of vaping in youth.
-Leveraging technology to create a safe and clean environment.
This is a battle that is NOT able to be fought alone! We need family help by:
-Talking with your student about this issue.
-Checking for signs and searching for any paraphernalia.
-Working with school to keep students safe.
-Talking with your doctor or other medical professionals at your annual visits.
Please watch this clip below - it is from a TODAY show segment done pre-covid, but has still reigned true in our schools. Throughout the newsletters each year, we plan to share facts about vaping with families to keep this topic in front of our families and remind us of the work that has to be done. Together we will continue to keep our schools safe and drug/tobacco free.

PLEASE NOTE:
In order for it to be a reimbursable (free) meal the students must take at least 3 of the 5 components offered each day. If they are unsure of what those components are they are encouraged to ask any of the cafeteria staff.
Any Ala Carte items outside the normal meals, including additional milks, will continue to be charged to the student food service accounts.
A family will be permitted to deplete the account to a negative $5.00 balance.
When a family account is depleted student(s) will not be allowed to purchase any a la carte items. You will receive automated phone calls or emails letting you know if your account has reached a negative balance. Please monitor the lunch account.
Families can access Skyward Family Access for account balance and purchases for each day.
Families who are free or reduced, please note that if your child decides not to participate in the program and brings cold lunch, milk will cost $.40 per carton. Please send money along that day or deposit money into the lunch account. (price subject to change)
