Hectors Dolphins are an endangered species because they live to close to the shore of New Zealand. The dolphins are getting caught in the fishermans nets. When the dolphins try to swim their way free they get killed and injuried very badly. Hector dolphins are also an endangered species because they are the smallest dolphin in their dolphin species. The female dolphins weigh 45 kilograms. The male dolphins weigh 35 kilograms. The dolphins are 1.2-1.4 meters long.
