Reflection Corner: The Gift of Mary, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary
During the month of October, we honor Mary, our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Once Mary accepted the call of God, she gave herself to the task of raising Jesus. She was the first teacher of Jesus. Her many honors stem from her willingness to become the Mother of God. Mary was called to teach Jesus.
Reflection: We are called to teach about Jesus to others. Mary performed her teachings with great faith and fervor. Do we, parents and teachers, follow her example of complete dedication to Jesus and to our task of teaching / molding the children entrusted to our care?
Monster Book Fair Next Week
We are thrilled to let you know that we are also opening the Book Fair from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th, to let our families and the OLM parishioners have yet another day to buy books for families and friends. On that day, our PTO will also be there to sell breakfast and snack items to everyone. We hope to see you then.
Come to the OLM Family Mass
School-wide Recitation of the Holy Rosary
October is the Month of the Most Holy Rosary. Last week, our school community gathered to pray the rosary as one family. Each day, we reflected on one Luminous mystery and offered prayers for each of the world continents. We thank all of you who came and joined us in the recitation of the Holy Rosary.

A Message from Our Scouts
Thank you for a really awesome Trunk-O-Treat!
It was a great turnout for our first Trunk-O-Treat event ever.
An extreme special thanks to the driving forces behind how it all happened.
Without the enthusiasm and support, it wouldn't be possible.
Thank you to all who volunteered! It was really fun to see our families and the community coming together...
See pictures on our shutterfly site.
See you at the same event next year!
Appreciation

Happy Halloween!
Here we go! Our annual Halloween festivities will take place on Friday, October 30th. Please find below our guidelines:
K - 6 students may come in Halloween costumes in the morning. Kindergarten teachers will be providing specific instructions for the little ones. Please note that the following are not allowed:
Face Masks
Anything that suggests violence including bloody costumes
Make-up
Toy weapons of any kind
Any handheld props that may be a safety hazard
Open shoes, slippers, flip-flops
Inappropriate attire (short shorts, short dresses, tank tops, etc.)
Students not wanting to be in costumes must be in their school uniforms. It is not a Free Dress Day.
We will still have our regular lunch periods for K – 6th. Hot lunches will still be available on that day.
The Halloween parade for PreK – 6 starts at 1:30 p.m. Immediately after the parade, classes will return to their classrooms for their respective Halloween celebrations. Parents are reminded to keep the treats as healthy as possible. Halloween treats may not be distributed until the designated Halloween celebration time.
For Seventh and Eighth Graders:
All seventh and eighth graders will participate in our Annual Halloween Social from 12:30 p.m. till 2:45 p.m. at the Church Hall on October 30th. The following are important guidelines / reminders for the event:
Students may come to school in their Halloween costumes. Yes, our Halloween Social is going to be a Halloween costume party. Same costume guidelines as above follow:
Open shoes, slippers, flip-flops (Students must wear closed-toe shoes.)
Inappropriate attire (short shorts, short dresses, tank tops, etc.)
It will be great to see homemade costumes.
Students may also wear jeans without holes (or school pants) and Halloween-themed (use of Halloween accessories meeting the guidelines above is encouraged) or Halloween-colored top (orange, black, or purple) and school-appropriate shoes. Use of flat closed-toe slip-on shoes is allowed just for this event.
Students not following the Halloween theme / colors will be required to change to school uniforms. Please note that other Alternate Dress Guidelines as written in the handbook apply.
When unsure if the chosen attire meets guidelines, please ask one of the teachers a few days before the event.
It should be one fun Halloween celebration at OLM. Boooooooooo!
