November Lunch Menu

We are experimenting with a new lunch menu format. This month, much like the public schools, publishing a lunch menu for the entire month. That said, below is the lunch menu for the entire month of November.
Special Friends Day is fast approaching. We are in the planning process now. At this time it will be much like last year. The day will begin with Baptismal Remembrance chapel at Flatrock at 7:50am and culminate with lunch at about 11am. In between will be lots of fun activities, which will all occur at the Flatrock campus again this year.

This is also the final day for our food drive. Special friends and other adults are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to school that day for the offering. The food will go to St. Marks and St Joe Hessen Cassell food banks as has been the case in the past.

One change coming this year is that when you send in your lunch order (for the adults. Kids will be as normal), you will be issued a lunch ticket that you will pick up after chapel that morning. You will need to show that ticket to get your lunch.

The deadline to send in lunch orders for the adults will be this Friday, November 9th. in the morning. Lunch tickets will not be available after that date. That doesn't mean other special friends can't come, it just means they will not be able to eat lunch unless it was ordered ahead of time. The cost for the adult lunches will be added to the student's lunch account. Please do not send any cash or checks in to pay for adult lunches.

A flyer with more details is attached right below this article. Please print, fill out and return ASAP.

SJE Basketball Warm-Up Shirts

Here is the design for this year's Basketball warm-up shirts. The shirts will be long sleeve and a dry fit material. They are black with white lettering. Costs for the shirts are $25 with a name on the back and $20 without. They are available in all sizes. I would like to get the order turned in by Wednesday, November 7.

Please make checks payable to St John-Emmanuel. I will collect money when I hand out shirts. Please send your order to sebuuck@msn.com. You can order shirts for family members or siblings if you would like.

Northwest Concert Band w/ Special Guest Bands from Central and SJE

On Saturday, November 10th, the Concert Band from Lutheran High School Northwest in Rochester Hills, MI will be having a concert at Central Lutheran School, in New Haven, IN at 7:00 PM. A free-will offering will be taken. Join us as we celebrate ”Living Fearless” 2 Timothy 1:7.

Food Drive Has Begun

Our annual food drive began Thursday November 1st. All chapel offerings will go to purchase food for the food banks. The food banks benefited again this year are St Mark's in Monroeville and Hessen Cassell. My prayer is that all will be generous to help those in our community less fortunate than us. Thank you!

Toy Drive Has Begun!

Our annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive began last Thursday and runs until December 7th. Please consider donating a new toy for a child.

Volunteering at SJE

Please note the info in bold below and see where you might be able to help/volunteer.

**Please note that your volunteer hours this year (18-19) will reduce or eliminate up to $400 of the tuition increase/student set for the 19-20 school year.***

The Lutheran SGO for SJE

It's that time again to have a conversation about our SGO. We have many families that have filled out applications requesting funds to assist with their school tuition. This is a great way to help them. It allows the donor to donate funds to the SGO and receive a 50% Indiana state tax credit. If your donation is large enough, you can carry it over up to 8 tax years. Our need this year as of now is $19,500.00, of which we already have $2000.00. Please consider giving. There are so many ways to do so and more are coming in early 2019. Please visit the website for more info.
