From the Guidance Office

Current 7th Grade students: In the next couple weeks Mr. Ousley will be going into all 7th grade classrooms for 8th grade scheduling. 7th grade students will be bringing home an enrollment worksheet for you to fill out and return to his or her social studies teacher. One of the questions on the enrollment worksheet is the decision to take World Language in 8th grade, for high school credit. The info below might help you to make that decision.

World Languages – Spanish 1, Spanish 1B, Spanish 2, French 1 and French 2 are offered in eighth grade. These courses are the equivalent of the material and skills learned at the first and second level of World Language in the high schools. It is recommended that current 7th grade student only pick up World Language in their 8th grade year if they are an A/B student. The World Language grade that a student receives in 8th grade will be on their high school transcript.

8th Grade Parents: Please look for HS enrollment information to come home with your son and/ or daughter tonight. HS Counselors will be returning to Northside next Monday, February 22nd to enroll on-line. Students will use their completed enrollment sheets that they received today to assist them in their online enrollment. Questions about specific high school courses should be directed to the respective high schools.
