Principal's Message
Our kindergarten enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year will be held on February 20th from 10am-6:30pm (no appointment is necessary). Please contact the office for more information, or if you or anyone that you know has a child that will be entering kindergarten in our next school year. Kindergarten screening will be held at a later date and by appointment only, so please watch for more information to come on our screening.
I would like to take the opportunity to ask that all parents and guardians please make every effort to have their children to school on time. Also, if students are leaving early or have a change in their transportation, please send a note with changes to the school in the morning.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Lewisville Elementary. If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or praise, please contact the office at 336-703-4224.

Morning Procedures
We are beginning the third quarter, and our team would like to encourage parents/guardians to allow their students to walk themselves to class. This allows them to gain independence in their daily lives. When parents/guardians have the occasional need to walk their child to class, they must have their green paw key chain and should leave the building by 7:55am. Anyone remaining in the building at 7:55am must report to the office and sign in for a visitor’s pass. We ask that on the rare occasion that parents/guardians do walk their children in, please walk directly to their classroom and refrain from visiting other areas of the school, previous teachers etc. If there is a need to visit other areas, we request parents/guardians return to the office and obtain a visitor pass. These procedures are in place for the safety of our students and staff.

Educational Leave Requests
While many experiences are exciting and children do gain knowledge or add to what they already know based on the experience, all experiences do not reinforce the Common Core Standards. The experiences should reinforce curriculum standards, which may be found at http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/curriculum/ . Please be specific in which aspects of the trip will be educational.
Educational requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance in order to be considered for approval. Requests during or after the trip will be denied. Are you ready to dance the night away (Well, at least until 8:00pm)? Our Winter Dance is going to “Totally Rad” with its Neon 80’s theme.
