Note from your Executive Director

Dear ACE Family,

We have outstanding news! Our end of year ISIP data for K-2 Reading shows tremendous growth. All four elementary schools have dramatically increased the percent of students reading at or above grade level. Additionally, our schools have already surpassed the district average performance for kindergarten and first grade and have grown 30 percentage points in second grade.

Thank you to our Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Teachers. Your work is incredibly important because we know that college readiness starts in the early years with reading on grade level. When students read and comprehend fluently by third grade - the sky is the limit for learning!

Your work has validated our ACE project by reinforcing that high quality teaching has the most impact on student achievement. You have also proven that consistent implementation of balanced literacy components with data study yields significant improvements in only one year.

We are grateful to so many for supporting our journey:

  • Thanks to our reading Campus Instructional Coaches and Academic Facilitator, Dr. Bauer, for supporting the development and refinement of teaching practices.
  • Thank you to our parents, volunteers, and donors like Commit! for literacy resources.
  • Thank you to our friends in the Dallas ISD Early Childhood Department for providing the K-2 Literacy Laureate program.

We will continue to send updates throughout the summer as more ACE data arrives.
