A Message from Mrs. Haymark

Dear Vogel Texans Families,

We are excited to welcome you and your child back to school this second semester! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season.

As you are aware, the positivity rate has risen in our county and Conroe ISD has revised its Covid-19 Safety Alert level to a Level 3. With this in mind, we will be reverting to the previous mitigation strategies that have kept our staff and students safe at this level in the past. The biggest changes you will notice are: limiting large indoor gatherings, reinstating reservations for attending school lunches, and increasing cleaning procedures. Students will be informed of changes today and we will use these next three days to practice our procedures. We are asking for parents to wait until Monday, January 10, 2022 to attend lunches with their child and use the Sign Up Genius links below to reserve their spot at the parent table.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this time. Please reach out at 832-663-4300 if you have further questions.

Christa Haymark, Principal

Update COVID-19 Strategies

The biggest mitigation strategy we can put in place during this time is to encourage students, parents, and staff to stay home when they are sick. It's going to take all of us to ensure our kiddos are safe while inside our building. Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling under the weather. Reach out to your child's teacher, our nurse, or our counselor with questions or specific needs. Beginning this week, we will be implementing additional protocols to those already in place to continue to keep students and staff safe. Please see below for the updates.

Masks: While masks are not required, we do encourage students and staff to wear them during this time of increasing Covid-19 spread in our community. We will have masks in the front office for students and staff who wish to wear one, but forgot them at home. If you have specific questions about masks, please let your child's teachers know. They are happy to help!

Classrooms: Students will continue to practice good hand hygiene with teachers offering sanitizer to student’s before and after class change. Teachers may also sanitize desks and student’s workstations before and after class change. All classrooms and common areas will be e-misted on a nightly basis after each student has left for the day.

Cafeteria: Students will be spread out as much as possible during all lunches. They will be provided an ID badge with a bar code used to purchase lunches to avoid using a keypad. Hand sanitizer will be provided in cafeteria and student will wash/sanitize before and after lunch. Parents will be asked to sign up for a reservation using Sign Up Genius to attend lunch with their child at the parent table.

Transitions: Students will maintain a safe distance when transitioning between classes, specials, and lunch.

Visitors: School visitors will be allowed on a limited basis to prevent exposure to our students and employees.

Covid Notifications: If a student in our building reports a positive test result, classroom and general notifications will continue to be sent out. If you have specific questions about your child's risks, please contact our school nurse, Susan Coyne @ scoyne@conroeisd.net or 832-663-4309.
