A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA
How to Change the World (A work in progress)
With a brand new year approaching, I think it is so important to take the time to reflect, as well as to generate ideas to make the upcoming year meaningful. A few weeks back I shared this short video with the students at an assembly. It generated so much joy and inspired kindness among us all. As we head into 2019, I am committed to bringing kindness, gratitude, and empathy to the Grant campus every day through actions big and small. I wish you all a wonderful winter break filled with celebration, peace, and love.
Sincerely,
Amanda Grey

Welcome Cinnabar's Donnie Frank to Grant Performing Arts
A message from Donnie:
I am very excited to be working with Grant's Performing Arts program this Spring. I have 3 kids - Austin (Senior at PHS), Nick (8th at Cinnabar), and Elisabeth (6th at McNear). I have had a love of and participated in dance, music, and theater from a young age. I got involved on the directing side when my oldest began participating in PA at McNear, and am now going into my 8th year of directing. In addition to directing PA, I am a noon supervisor at McNear and am a seamstress and costumer. I am the Wardrobe Manager at Cinnabar Theater, and I costume productions for their Young Rep productions, for Petaluma School of Ballet, North Coast Ballet California, and at McNear. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the world of theater with children, exposing them to new music and dance, helping them to push their boundaries a little, and most of all feel proud of their work and confident about themselves up on the stage. I look forward to meeting you and your children this Spring!
Grant Performing Arts is Coming: Auditions 1/18
It's nearly time for Grant's Performing Arts Program to begin. Students in grades 1-6 are invited to participate in 'Adventures in Wonderland'. As Alice travels along trying to find her way home she makes new friends including a very late White Rabbit, a dutchess who uses too much pepper, a talking caterpillar, singing lobsters, a gryphon and a mock-turtle, a motley crew having an UnBirthday Party, a red Queen who wants to remove everyone's head, and a Cheshire Cat that keeps disappearing!
*The Casting Call will be held on Friday, January 18 afterschool.
Additional information and registration forms will be available when we return to school in January.
*We are looking for additional adults to assist with the rehearsal and performance process, please let me know if you are interested. Contact Donnie at donniemfrank@gmail.com.
A huge thanks to our volunteer crossing guards, who keep it safe & fun rain or shine. We appreciate you!
