***HB4545 Announcement*** TUTORING
Given the disruptions of the 2020-2021 school year, the Texas Legislature has given parents new rights to help support their children.
House Bill 4545 provides additional learning opportunities for students who did not score approaches on the 2020 reading and math STAAR exam. One of those learning supports is additional tutoring for academic success. Students that did not pass in 3rd and 5th grade have additional requirements.
CHA will host a parent information night for the current 4th and 6th grade scholars that did not score approaches on the 2020 STAAR exam. Fourth Grade information night will be held in the community room Tuesday, December 7th at 6:00 pm.
Sixth Grade Information Night will be held in the community room Thursday, December 9th at 6:00 pm. Scholars that require tutoring will receive a voice message through School Messenger.
Scholars in 5th, 7th, and 8th grade that did not score approaches on the 2020 reading and math STAAR exam will receive tutoring information along with a letter granting permission for them to attend after school tutoring.
If you have any questions about this, please email Amy Miller, Education Research and Data Coordinator.

Parent Please Read-Important information for walkers
Those scholars who are considered walkers must leave the front area of the school property no later than 3:40 PM.
That means they cannot stay at the walker gate, under the tree, and/or around the electric transformer.
Any scholar, considered to be a walker, who has not left the front of the school by 3:40 PM will be brought to the community room in the school building and parents/guardians will have to come through the carpool line to pick them up.
Parents must have their scholar’s yellow card visibly displayed on their dashboard for scholar pickup. If the driver does not have a yellow card, they will be asked to pull over to park and show proper identification for scholar pickup.
The intentions of being a walker is that those walking scholars will leave the school premises immediately after dismissal by walking home, not waiting for parent/guardian arrival at the front of the school.
This has become a significant safety issue and must be dealt with immediately.
