A Note From Mrs. Graham
Recently one of our Bible verses was the Fruit of the Spirit; Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Since this week is a week to celebrate Love, here are some other verses that speak to what love is. I Corinthians 13:1-13, Mark 12:30-31, John 3:16, I Corinthians 16:14. There are so many more, but these are some of my favorites. Please take some time to read these with your family this week. If you have favorite verses or stories that speak of the kind of love we want our children to show others, please share them with me.

Important Dates
February 17: No School because of Parent Conferences in the morning. If you want to schedule a meeting for Friday morning, please email me by Tuesday morning. I have already scheduled meetings if I felt a conference was needed.
Reading
We were really enjoying reading through this selection as it is a play. Everyone wanted to be involved so we are taking more time with it.
I am also going to add a little poetry into this week's reading.
No fluency homework this week. Other homework is to read for 20 minutes each day and journal your reading for Equivalency Points with Mrs. Shaver.
Spelling
Spelling Test 21 and 40 menu points will be due on Tuesday, February 21 after our long President's Day weekend.
Bible
Theme: Selfless love is the priority for every Christian
Memory Work: I Corinthians 13:4-5
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.

Math
I hope to have the class ready for a math test on Thursday. Watch the planner for updated information.
Please remember to have your child do Xtramath at least three times a week at home. My goal is for everyone to be working on multiplication or beyond by the beginning of April.
