A November to Remember
We are asking for some parent help in terms of student Chromebook care. Over the past few weeks we have seen an increase in repairs for three particular issues. The first is broken screens, the main reason this occurs is when a student puts something into their Chromebook and then closes the lid. The cases and Chromebooks are not designed for this and it frequently cracks the screen. The second is missing keys. This is rarely accidental, students will pick at the keys on the Chromebook until they pop off. Once this occurs, the others come off easier and often we have to replace the whole board. The third issue is called a critical battery. If the student allows the Chromebook to get so low in battery that it shuts off it can cause a critical battery issue that is difficult to fix. This is easily prevented by charging each night. We have been going over these issues in class and would appreciate if our parents would do the same at home.
A reminder that the Dutch Bulb Fundraiser is complete. Please bring in all remaining order forms on Monday!
My McDream Team had a great time serving our families at McDonald's this week. It was a lot fun and we had a great family turn out! Twenty percent of all sales that night will go to the CMS PTO.
Finally, I wanted to let you know about one other way to get information about CMS happenings. We have daily announcements that are posted to my "principal's Corner" web page each day. The link to my web page is on the CMS website, attached to my email, and I will include it here as well.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend!
Blast from the Past!

Notes from the Nurse
Over the next two weeks, the school nurses will be conducting vision, hearing, height and weight screens. As always, you can contact the nurses at 781-440-5926 or tsperber@norwood.k12.ma.us with any questions.
