IDOE's Charter School Program team will be releasing the Cohort 4 Request For Proposals and application materials in December of 2019.

Free Data Coaching Available to LEAs

The Office of Title Grants and Support is offering free data coaching to LEAs in need of assistance with collecting, analyzing, and visualizing their data. This type of support includes workshops, professional development activities, resource development, and other types of services. More information and the link to the data coaching intake form are available here.

Group Goal and Mission: Indiana Charter School Network (ICSN) and Center for Innovative Education Solutions (CIES) strive to provide a collaborative space for all Charter School Finance & Operations Staff. The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Girls Who Code

IDOE has partnered with Girls Who Code this year to bring free computer science learning opportunities to Indiana communities. Girls Who Code Clubs are FREE after-school programs for third-12th grade girls. When you start a Girls Who Code Club, you’ll gain access to free resources, flexible plug and play curriculum, funding opportunities, ongoing support, and more! No computer science experience is needed to get started since Girls Who Code is there for you every step of the way. IN-MaC Micro Grants

Indiana Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC) is offering micro grants. This program aims to provide grant funding to education (K-16), industry, and community-based organizations who implement creative ways to enhance youth industry experiences. Ranging from $1,000 - $2,000, the Micro-Grants are designed to support innovation and encourage organizations to dedicate funds towards development and program implementation that impact industry awareness. The application opened on September 1 and runs through May 31. The application can be found here. Please contact Lisa Deck with questions.

Green Ribbon Award Application Process Now Open

The Indiana Green Ribbon Schools Award program is a joint partnership with the United States Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Awards. The Indiana Green Ribbon Schools program highlights schools in Indiana that educate students about human environmental impact on their communities. In 2019, Goshen Community Schools received this prestigious award. Individual schools, school systems, and institutions of higher education are all eligible to apply. Federal Accountability Grade

For 2018-2019, schools will receive a Federal rating of either exceeds expectations, meets expectations, approaches expectations, or does not meet expectations based on all applicable indicators. Schools will not receive an A-F grade for Federal purposes.

For additional information on the Federal accountability ratings, please participate in our Moodle course on Federal accountability found here (course title: ESSA Accountability; course enrollment key: ESSAaccountability) and review resources available in our School Accountability and Accreditation Community in Moodle (School Accountability and Accreditation Community).

School Recruitment, Enrollment, and Marketing Webinar Series

IDOE is pleased to announce the second year of our popular charter school recruitment, enrollment, and marketing webinar series. Building off the success of our first year’s sessions, we are pleased to announce that we will continue to provide monthly webinars to our charter school leaders on how they can improve their school enrollment and marketing.

Nick Leroy, President of Bright Minds Marketing and a Hoosier expert in the field, will be hosting the webinars. Bright Minds Marketing is a consulting company that works specifically with charter schools to support student enrollment, recruitment, and retention through marketing and communications.

Webinars will be held the second Wednesday of every month, starting Wednesday September 11th, and the schedule, resources, and recordings can be found here.
