Newsletter Week 5 Term 4

Golden Sands School Tuesday 15 November 2022

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Tēnā koutou e te whānau

As you can see the carpark at the front of the school is almost complete. Thank you so much for your patience with this. Once this work is complete we will have seven extra car parks for people to use.

Recently we have had a bit of rain and it has been harder for people to find a spot to pull into the Drop off Zone. Unfortunately some whanau have been stopping in the middle of the road to let their children out. This is very dangerous for the children and holds up the traffic behind the car stopping. Please show our kids that we care and model the correct thing. Thank you for your support in keeping our kids safe.

Unpaid accounts

Please check Kindo to see whether you owe money for any events your child has attended. We also appreciate any whanau who can pay the Voluntary Donation. We do not get funding for library books, playgrounds, play equipment. These things are provided through fundraising or parent donations. I know it is very financially difficult for many people at the moment. We really appreciate any amount of this donation that you can afford so that we can continue to provide the environment and opportunities that are best for your children’s learning.

Hats

A reminder that it is compulsory for all tamariki to be wearing a hat when outside. Please ensure that your child has their hat with them at all times and that they have put sunscreen on in the morning.

2023

We are currently making the classes for 2023. If you are intending on moving out of the area and/or will not be with us next year, can you please let us know as soon as possible. You can email Kirsty Hudson khudson@goldensands.school.nz

Out of Zone Places for 2023

For 2023, we have 20 out of zone places for Year 0 -2. Please contact the office if you are interested. Applications for these places will close on November 20.

PB4L

This week’s focus is Keeping safe coming to and from school. The key ideas we will be working on are

  • I will cross the road at the designated area

  • I can wear a helmet correctly when scootering or biking to school

  • I can count on myself and others can count on me too before, during and after school

  • I will do my best to always keep myself and others safe

  • I will do the right thing at the right time

Have a great week everyone!

Orders are sent to your child's classroom when they arrive. However, if you wish to purchase as a gift, please select the "gift" option if ordering online or write office in the class if you are completing a form. We will then email you to collect from the school office.
