Prenatal Nutrition
A Week of Meals
What is prenatal nutrition? When does the diet need to change?
Prenatal nutrition is how pregnant women can eat healthy while keeping their dietary restrictions in mind. The diet should change in the fourth month of the pregnancy; that's when women should begin increasing their daily calorie intake by 300. The concept of healthy eating doesn't change very much, but there are some dietary restrictions to consider.
Dietary Restrictions
Raw meat and seafood, fish with mercury, soft cheeses, and deli meat should all be avoided. Even caffeine, like coffee, shouldn't be consumed. And of course, alcohol can't be drank or it could harm the baby.
