A Message from the Superintendent's Office
In an earlier communication to all Hopkins families regarding School Safety and Security, we included incorrect information regarding the buzzer systems of our schools' external doors. We want to provide you with the following corrected information:
Three of our district buildings are set up with a double buzzer system. Hopkins High School and North Junior High use them on a daily basis. Harley Hopkins has the capability but as of now visitors are buzzed directly into the main office. We are in the process of conducting comprehensive safety checks in all of our buildings. We are also discussing whether standardizing all of our schools to a two buzzer system is a change law enforcement would recommend.
What's true for all buildings at this time is that we have a two-step entry process. This two-step process involves a visitor being buzzed into the welcome center or office through a locked door and then registering with the staff as a guest/parent before being allowed into the rest of the building. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by providing incorrect information. Thank you for your understanding.

2018 Spring Conferences
Conferences are Wednesday, April 4 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 5, from 12:00 – 8:00 pm and Friday, April 6 from 8:00 am until noon. Sign up is available online and the links are listed on our Glen Lake home page. If you do not have access to sign up online, please contact your child’s teacher. Conference sign up will close on Tuesday, April 3. There is 1 conference per student. Please don't ask for a conference time outside of these scheduled times and dates, as by doing so would interfere with teachers preparation time for their instruction. These dates are set up in advance for families to plan accordingly. Thanks for your understanding.

Looking for a resource to sharpen and keep those math concepts polished? We are recommending summer review books to help students maintain their math skills throughout the summer months. Sixth grade and GT math students should order The Summer Skills Sharpener books. Information will be available during conferences and is also posted under the Electronic Backpack.
