State BOE Adds Two to Normandy JEGB
The Normandy Joint Executive Governing Board welcomes two new members to the team.
William Humphrey and Michael Jones were appointed to the JEGB April 29 in a special meeting of the Missouri Board of Education. In the meeting, the state BOE issued a proclamation allowing the addition of the two new members, whose service on the JEGB is effective immediately. The State Board’s proclamation also dictates the JEGB will reorganize and hold elections for leadership within 14 days.
“I look forward to working with Mr. Jones and Mr. Humphrey to build upon the foundation we’re putting in place to transform our school district,” said Marcus C. Robinson, Normandy Superintendent of Schools. “Both Mr. Jones and Mr. Humphrey have an established reputation in our community for their commitment to education and youth, and we know our students will benefit from their leadership and insight.”
Margie Vandeven, commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, thanked Jones and Humphrey for agreeing to serve on the JEGB.

All Students to Take MAP Test, EOC Exams In-Person
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is requiring all students (in-person and virtual) in grades 3-12 to take the MAP test/End of Course exams in school buildings.
This is the time of year where our students get to show what they’ve learned on the annual Missouri Assessment Program (or MAP) tests! As this school year has been a unique one, our MAP testing will take on a different look as well. Please read the following information carefully.
To accommodate the DESE requirement, we have designed a special testing schedule for both in-person and online/virtual students.
- All in-person students will test in school buildings the week of May 3-7, 2021.
- Virtual students will test over the next three weeks in schools (not remotely) on designated days at designated times, depending on the grade level and school. (See chart above.)
- Transportation, snacks, and meals will be provided for virtual students. For details, please visit the Normandy website.
- As a result of MAP testing, there will be no early dismissals for EleMiddle/ELC students or late starts for NHS students in May. EleMiddle and Early Learning Center students will have a full day of class on Fridays. High school students will login in or report to their first class on Mondays at 8:30 a.m.
We’re looking for 100% participation and can’t wait to see all of our students in-person to test!
More details will be sent to families via email and phone.

Elemiddle/ELC students will dismiss at their regular time on Fridays. High school students will login at the regular time for their first class on Mondays.
Give STL Day Supports Friends of Normandy Student Scholarships
The Friends of Normandy Foundation would like to ask for your help in our mission to provide scholarships to graduating seniors.
Thursday, May 6 is Give STL Day! This online community-giving event is designed to inspire the gift of giving all over the region. There is no gift too small so please support us in any way possible.
While post-secondary education, especially college completion, can unlock life changing opportunities for our students, the cost can be prohibitive for our families whose financial resources limit their ability to contribute to post-secondary expenses, despite their strong desire to do so. A Friends of Normandy Foundation scholarship helps reduce the anxiety springing from mounting debt and the struggle to balance school and work. Donations to our foundation through Give STL will give more students the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.
Although Give STL is officially held on May 6, we are accepting early donations now, through May 5, 2021. Please take advantage of the early giving and donate today at https://www.givestlday.org/friendsnormandy. If not today, please visit the website on Give STL Day, May 6, 2021 to give.
Thank you in advance for your donation to help us provide scholarships for well-deserved Normandy High School graduating seniors.
District Introduces Uniform Guidelines for HS Students
Normandy Schools Collaborative is excited to announce changes to our Uniform Guidelines for the upcoming school year.
We are implementing an academic setting with high expectations for scholars, staff, and parents, thus creating a true “Professional Learning Community” where scholars are intrigued with learning and excited about school. As a result, we are implementing a new uniform policy for our high school students.
Beginning this fall, Normandy High School students will wear new NSC-logoed white polo shirts and khaki pants with a black belt. The district will provide students three uniforms (pants and shirts) and one belt at no charge to families.
