News From the Nest
Week of May 23-27, 2022
Dear APS Families,
Thank you for everyone who came out to APS Takes Flight Thursday evening. What a wonderful night to focus on all things flight, everything from plane simulators to birds of prey. We had a great time visiting with families as we walked around to all the exhibits and enjoyed the many vendors. Special thanks to Ms. Roberts who organized the event. It was a fantastic school-community event!

Let's welcome Erin Klemowich to Audubon Park School K8!
This summer APSK8 has the unique opportunity to have our students keep their skills sharp with a couple different options from IXL.com. This platform is available to all of our students via: Launchpad.ocps.net.
Students can take a diagnostic that will craft a skills plan specific to your student’s needs in reading and math.
This three minute video will you give insight on how to access this feature: https://youtu.be/mpUFVyiQYII
The next option is using IXL’s premade skill plans: Summer Boost Skill plan or IXL Summer Adventures. These skills plans were created to highlight and target skills that your student will be practicing in the next grade level.

Please consider having your APS student continue elevating their skills over summer at their own pace using this outstanding website!
SAC invites parents to join a new subcommittee next year
Hello parents of APS:
The School Advisory Committee (SAC) would like to warmly invite parents to join a new subcommittee. The purpose will be to support our School Improvement Plan’s (SIP) goals of diversity, equity and inclusion as they pertain to our student population. The subcommittee will work together to review the Stakeholder data as it relates to our School Improvement Goal (SIP) of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion as it pertains to our school needs. The committee will develop and actively implement school projects, activities, and events that support our equity and diversity needs.
We would love to see you there! Please email Cheryl Goodison at CGoodison@bgccf.org
if you are interested in joining. This meeting is open to any parent, stakeholder or community member who has an interest in serving APS.
