Differentiation for ALL
Come experience where theory meets practical application
Join Us for a Day of Practical Differentiated Learning with Dr. Craig Meredith
Workshop Details & Overview
Overview:
This 1-day workshop has been designed to actively engage participants with the academic content standards appropriate for at least one subject area each participant is responsible for teaching. The workshop will begin with a focus on the OTES rubric elements based on the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession (OSTP) that look specifically at the practice of differentiation at both the planning and the instructional delivery level.
- Instructional Planning – Focus for Learning
- Instructional Planning – Assessment Data
- Instructional Planning – Prior Content Knowledge/Sequence/Connections
- Instructional Planning – Knowledge of Students
- Instruction and Assessment – Differentiation
- Instruction and Assessment – Assessment of Student Learning
After breaking down the expectations incumbent in the OSTP based OTES assessment rubric, practical strategies will be introduced, modeled, and then practiced by participants. This will include ideas on how to adjust content, products, and/or process. Participants will then form self-determined work teams to plan and design a block of related lessons to be delivered in their own classroom. The work teams will then present what they develop to the group.
Resources Needed:
1. Readiness level (baseline level) of the students that will engage in the block of lessons that are developed during the workshop
2. Internet capable tablet or laptop computer
3. Access to relevant academic standards
4. Access to curriculum resources and materials to assist in developing lesson block
