Principal's Message

We are excited to share with you that our OASD elementary virtual learning format will shift following the Memorial Day weekend. In an effort to capture the joy of the final stretch of a school year while also attempting to replicate traditions and cherished end of the year activities your family can expect the following beginning May 26th and ending June 10th:

  • Daily lesson plans per grade level will continue to be shared and they will include an expectation for daily literacy (reading and/or writing) practice, math practice, and a virtual enrichment opportunity for students and families to enjoy. There will be no new video lessons introduced. The contraction of daily plans will allow your family to embrace the conclusion of a most memorable school year.

  • Classroom teachers will continue to schedule live meetings (whole group, small group, or 1:1) as they have throughout and will host a final class meeting on June 10th. This day will also include a closing celebration for students and families.

  • Reminder - Intervention lesson plans end on May 21 and June 5 is the final day for 4K.

Are you asking yourself, “What in the world is virtual enrichment?” We have coordinated with our specials teachers, classroom teachers, and groups within our Oconomowoc community to offer special days/experiences - a World Music Day, Community Guest Readers, and Field Day Bingo as a couple of examples. I am particularly excited about the week of June 1 where we have coordinated the enrichment experiences across all 5 elementary schools in the hopes of having a week of experiences that bring our entire community together.

Your partnership and support during the school closure is a gift we greatly appreciate. We are excited about these opportunities to have some fun as we close out the 2019-2020 school year.

Mr. Schreiber

Borrowed Technology Return

*This does not apply to 4th graders with a district-issued Chromebook, only those who checked out a device to help to access virtual content.

If you checked out a Chromebook or iPad, please fill out this brief form if you would like to keep it over the summer (to be returned to school at the start of the 2020-2021 school year).

For those leaving the district or not wanting to keep the device over the summer, you may return it to your school during materials pick up, or drop it off at our East Campus front desk by June 15th.

All internet hotspots need to be returned by June 15th, either during school materials pick up or to East Campus. If you have an educational need for the hotspot over the summer, please send an email to the Technology Help Desk to request an extension.

When returning devices, make sure to include all chargers & cases that were issued to you at check-out. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

We will have June 8 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. and June 9 from 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. as pick up/drop off times. We require that you sign up to let us know when to expect you.

Drop off/return info

At Meadow View we will have June 8 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. and June 9 from 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. as pick up/drop off times. We require that you sign up to let us know when to expect you.

Please follow these rules for pick-up/drop off:

  • Returning School Items: If your student has school items like classroom library books or other classroom supplies to return to school, please place those items in a bag, labeled with your child’s name and teacher’s name. Labeling bags will help school staff understand where to return items.

  • Library Books: If you need to return school library books, they should be in a separate, labeled bag. (Note - school library books contain a bar code and have been specifically checked out to your student. Classroom library books will not have a bar code, usually they will be labeled with the teacher's name.)

  • Place Items in Trunk: Please place all of these items in your trunk before you arrive at school.

  • Label Your Vehicle: Please write your student’s last name on a piece of paper to display it in your car window.

  • Arrival at School: Our drive-thru location will be the Normal parent pick-up/drop-off route (entrance on Whalen Dr.)

  • Student belongings: Teachers will have collected student belongings from school and placed them in a paper grocery bag.

  • When you arrive at school: please pull up to the pick-up location, open your trunk, and a staff member will place your student’s items into the trunk and remove any school items you’re returning.

  • Please remain in your car during the entire process and no one will be permitted into the building.

Clearly, this is not the end we envisioned for our first year in our new building. Even though this has been challenging, we will get through this together. The OASD has an amazing team across the District and community. Let's keep showing that school pride community wide!

Drive In and Move On - 4th Grade Celebration - Save The Date!

Fourth Grade Families,

You're invited to our Drive-In and Move On! on Tuesday, June 2 from 4:30 - 6:30. Fourth-grade families are invited to decorate their cars and drive through the parent drop off/pick up loop at school. Staff members will line the drive (while practicing social distancing) to help celebrate and recognize our 4th graders. Please arrive anytime between the stated hours.

At the end of the "parade route", families will pop their trunk to receive a memory bag. We will need families to stay in their car during the celebration. The rain date will be June 3. There will be a separate day for you to pick up your student's other school supplies.

In the days leading up to the celebration (May 30 - June 1), families are welcome to stop by school and bring their own sidewalk chalk to write their name/draw a picture or share a "miss and wish" (share something they will miss and share a wish they have for the future), take a picture by their sidewalk chalk creation or by the front sign, or to do one last March With Meadow View as a family. Please remember part of the "Wildcat Way" is being safe, so social distancing is expected.
