Safety at Forest Grove
Safety has been a popular topic of discussion throughout out district over the past month, and this includes Forest Grove Elementary School.
We held our School Safety Night where we discussed our school-wide goal of providing a safe, secure campus that remains welcoming to our families.
There was rich discussion regarding our overall campus safety measures including how we direct foot traffic to the front of school, emergency procedures, and student social-emotional and mental health.
If you have been reading our safety updates regularly, you already know that we have taken several measures to increase safety and awareness at Forest Grove. These safety improvements include:
Locking the gate between Forest Grove and the PG High School during school hours.
Checking our fencing to insure that it is secure.
Requiring adults we do not know to show identification when they are picking up a student from school.
Requiring employees to wear identification badges.
The way our families can help the most is to follow the simple guideline, if you see something, say something. If something does not look, sound, or feel right to you, please inform school personnel immediately.
We will act immediately to respond to any potential threat to our safety at school. We are fortunate to have an excellent working relationship with the Pacific Grove Police Department, including access to an excellent school resource officer.
We understand that for students to learn at their best they must continue to feel physically and emotionally safe.
Simply put, our mission is to build a loving, secure nest for our students.
