Scheduling Information

Can you believe we are talking about scheduling for LHS for next year!!

Mark your calendars! We are holding a Parent Scheduling/ Graduation Pathways meeting on Wednesday, Feb 19th at 6pm in the Performing Arts Center of LHS. All information you will need for scheduling at Lakewood High School can be found here Ohio is changing the graduation pathways and you can learn about those on Feb 19th as well. More info is available at ODE here

RoX (Ruling Our eXperiences) is coming to LHS!

Our friends at the Lakewood Education Foundation are sponsoring ROX at LHS. ROX is a co-curricular program focused on education, safety, health and the empowerment of girls!! Permission forms are out and the group is open to all girls 9-12. Return forms ASAP to get in the groups. Space is limited. Thank you LEF!

CTEC for Seniors?!?!?

You read that right! In addition to the 2 year programs for high school students, did you know CTEC has two senior only programs? Students attend for partial days their senior year in either Manufacturing Fundamentals or Healthcare and earn their academics at LHS for the other part of the day. The best part? Earning a 12 point Industry recognized credential towards graduation!! Class of 2021 students interested can apply for admission here.

$cholarship$ anyone?

Seniors have several opportunities to seek out local scholarship sources via Naviance, the Class of 2020 Google Classroom and outside the Student Success Center are paper copies of local scholarships. Right now, there are over 20 local scholarships out there for our students. Sign up for the Remind for Class of 2020 to get those applications too!!

Youtube Channel!!

You spoke and we listened! We have a Youtube channel and plan to post short videos with content that you want to know about! Check out our channel, become a subscriber and watch the first video about CCP.

College Credit Plus (CCP)


Intent to Participate Forms are due to the counseling office by M 4/6/2020 for next year. Students in CCP need to do this form each year they plan to participate.

There will be a COTC application session on T 4/7 during 5th period in the SSC. Students will need their chormebooks and SS# to apply. They can register via the form below.

Students that are not ACT qualified will need to Accuplacer at LHS on W May 27th at 12:30pm in the library. COTC will only test those students with submitted COTC applications. They can register at the form below.

All prospective CCP students will need to complete this CCP Survey so I know where they plan to apply. https://forms.gle/kgeSyPALHrQ8tagNA

Lakewood High School Scheduling and Graduation Informational meeting

Active Parenting of Teens Workshop (3 sessions)

Monday, April 6th, 5:30-7:30pm

1627 Bryn Mawr Drive

Newark, OH

This three session workshop will focus on:

  • Methods of respectful discipline

  • Skills for clear, honest communication

  • Concrete strategies to prevent risky behavior

  • How to be an encouraging parent

  • Plus insights in to issues like teens online, bullying and depression
