2017 Madison County Swimming Championship

We had a very exciting contest on Monday evening as Sparkman, Hazel Green, Buckhorn, and Madison County (meet host) swim teams competed for the MADISON COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Buckhorn High School Women’s Swim Team won their 8 th consecutive county championship with a score of 175 points following with Hazel Green 100 points, Sparkman 94 points, and Madison County 46 points.
Several Buckhorn Female Swimmers claimed titles by winning their individual events.
Ladies’ Varsity Swim Team County Champions are:
Victoria Westbrook – 200 Yard Freestyle
Devyn Taylor – 50 Yard Freestyle
Emerson Barrett – 100 Yard Butterfly and 100 Yard Backstroke
Isabella Barrett – 500 Yard Freestyle
The Buckhorn Ladies swept the relay competition by placing first in all 3 relays:
200 Medley Relay (Emerson Barrett, Haley Boyd, Isabella Barrett, Devyn Taylor)
200 Free Relay (Devyn Taylor, Haley Boyd, Ashley Hoyt, Emerson Barrett)
400 Free Relay (Devyn Taylor, Ashley Hoyt, Tori Westbrook, Emerson Barrett)
Emerson Barrett was the High Point Swimmer winning two individual events and swimming on three winning relays.
The Buckhorn High School Men’s Team won their 4th consecutive county title. The men combined for 194 points, Hazel Green 99 points, Sparkman 59 points, and Madison County 14 points.
Buckhorn Men Swimmers claimed FIRST place in all but one of the individual events.
The following men won individual titles:
Jack Sentell – 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle
Riley Worshek – 200 IM and 100 Butterfly
Caleb Worshek – 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke
Matthew Sentell – 100 Backstroke
The Men’s Team also won all three relays:
200 Medley Relay (Matthew Sentell, Caleb Worshek, Neil Hudson, Carson Amos)
200 Free Relay (Caleb Worshek, Neil Hudson, Jack Sentell, Riley Worshek)
400 Free Relay (Carson Amos, Jack Sentell, Matthew Sentell, Riley Worshek)
Caleb and Riley Worshek tied for High Point Swimmers winning two individual events and two relays. Jack Sentell won two individual and swam on one winning relay.
Seniors Xavier Hudson and Team Captain, Matthew Sentell were recognized during the meet break.
Our combined team scores were:
Buckhorn Swim Teams: 369 points
Hazel Green Teams: 199 points
Sparkman Teams: 153 points
Madison County Teams: 60 points

The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!

Check your child's grades and attendance through the INOW Parent Portal.
A parent/guardian must come to BHS and show a photo id to receive a new pin number. Please Note: Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) users should use compatibility view.
Login procedures for the iNow Parent Portal. Here is what a parent/guardian will need to do to access the site.

It is easy to raise funds for your non-profit or school group at The Chill Factory®. They will dedicate four hours to your group to raise funds with their help. Your organization invites the public to attend, they provide the treats. Your organization will receive 20% of all yogurt sales to put towards your goal. Non-profit status is required for community groups. School groups must have permission from the school principal to fundraise.
