Wauwatosa Montessori School
May 26, 2022
Dear Families:
A friendly reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, May 27th and Monday, May 30th. We return to school on Tuesday, May 31st.
A big round of applause to our Band, Orchestra and Choir students and directors on a wonderful Spring performance this past Monday. Thank you to all the parents and family members that attended. It was a wonderful afternoon to enjoy the students hard work on display. Bravo to all involved and thank you to Ms. Graber, Mr. Bregant and Mr. Burmeister for their hard work with the students throughout the entire year.
The last day of school is June 10th and is a half day for students. Dismissal is at 11:30am. Lunch will not be served on the last day, however families can order a bag lunch to go that will be delivered for students to take home on that last day. All orders are due by end of day June 1st and the lunch will consist of: sandwich, chips, fruit, and juice . To order a lunch to go, click here.
We have a number of volunteer opportunities for families to get involved. Please click on the links for more information on how you can support Wauwatosa Montessori School.
Tuesday, June 7th is our all school Field Day & Micro Marathon. Please note that there are some stations that will involve water, so packing a change of clothes for your child(ren) is a great idea. Thanks to all the parents who have already volunteered. Families are doing a great job raising funds for the PTSA and their continued support of our school events, field trips, all school read, outdoor beautification projects, and much more.
As always, please reach out with any questions!
Sincerely,
Ms.Imperiale
Principal

Snapshots from the Week
Lion's Club Donations
Do you have an old pair (or many pairs of glasses) just laying around. Do you know someone who has an extra hearing aid they no longer use?
The Berghammer Family will be collecting old glasses and hearing aids to donate to the Lion's Club of Wisconsin. The Lions Club is a national service organization with many local chapters. The Lion's Club of Wisconsin has a club in Wauwatosa. They sponsor the Wisconsin Lion's Camp, which provides week-long camping for children with vision impairment, hearing loss, autism and many other situations. Many of you know that Elleanor was born deaf and uses cochlear implants. She has attended the Lions camp most summers since she was 6 years old. She (and our family) wanted to give back to the Lion's cause by collecting glasses and hearing aid for them to repurpose to people in need.
We will post a bin the entry area, where they could be dropped. If you have questions, you can contact Adam Berghammer (ammer1029@yahoo.com or 414-467-2736)

We are in need of at least 70 community adult evaluators to help assess and engage students in thinking about important civic ideas. Each adult will spend 10 minutes talking 1-on-1 with a student; then, they will complete a simple evaluation rubric. Adults will talk to 10 students during the two hour event. If you are interested, please complete the 2022 Issue Fair Sign Up Form or email Chris Lazarski at lazarsch@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us.
