In Case You Missed It:
I can't believe how fast this year is flying by. It is MARCH already! Thank you for holding down the fort on Friday and always supporting each other and me. I took the day to go with my youngest daughter Morgan for her first wedding dress fitting. June, which will be the end of the school year and when she gets married, will be here before we know it.
Thank you to EVERYONE for getting SafeSchools modules completed, going to visit the benefits representative last week and turning in intent forms on time. I know we all have a lot going on and many days it's hard to keep up with all our responsibilities. Thank you for reading my emails and following through with all your responsibilities. I appreciate you!
NC Teacher Working Conditions Survey is given every two years. The last one was given in 2018. You can click here to access the reports. Click here to see a comparison report of SLMS from 2014, 2016, and 2018. SanLee's Leadership Team does look at these results when working on our School Improvement Plan. This year's survey opened today, March 1. Cynthia Wicker has received the codes and will be giving directions for taking this year's survey at the end of tomorrow's UnMeeting. Please make sure to bring a devise with you to the meeting so you can complete. Our goal is to have 100% participation by the end of this week!
SanLee's AVID application is on our SLMS webpage and live through April 17th. Past experience has shown us that many Stallions just need some encouragement from a teacher that says "I believe in you." and " I know you can do it." It is important to remember that AVID is not an intervention but is a system to help average students prepare advanced level courses to prepare for college.
Math tutoring: I'm waiting to get the go ahead from Central Office to be able to use money for after school tutoring in math and AVID tutors to go into math classes. I've been assured I'd have the answer tomorrow morning. I will let you know as soon as I have an answer.
