PLUS ~ 2 Bonus Veggies! ~ We have an assortment of Broccoli, Graffiti Cauliflower, Zucchini, Acorn Squash, Honey Blonde Melon, Sunburst Squash, and Cucumbers. You will get to pick two of these as a bonus this week.
Number of crops ready and amount of harvest of a given crop will vary throughout the season. We will provide at least six items each week. If we have any crop issues, we will supplement with produce from other local farms. Some weeks will include value added items, such as Jungle Jam, Zucchini Bread, or Fresh Basil Pesto.
Tips & Recipe Ideas
This cabbage is often used raw for salads and coleslaw, but can easily be eaten cooked. (Sometimes cooking changes its color, making it appear blueish.) It is the traditional accompanying side dish paired with many German meals.
There are many varieties of mint—all fragrant, whether shiny or fuzzy, smooth or crinkled, bright green or variegated. However, you can always tell a member of the mint family by its square stem. Rolling it between your fingers, you’ll notice a pungent scent and think of candy, sweet teas, or maybe even mint juleps. As well as kitchen companions, mints are used as garden accents, ground covers, air fresheners, and herbal medicines.
