Canvas info No. 5
Are you sick of getting notifications from me yet saying that assignment dates have been changed?! This is because many instructors have not done these assignments (it will take 20 minutes) and I have to keep pushing back the due date.
You actually have control over your notifications. Students will too.
Under Account, click Notification Preferences and you can add and subtract things there.

The calendar feature
It is very easy on the instructor end to change due dates. Those four purple items below are our four assignments in the New Student Orientation. You just drag them wherever you want them to go. We will all want to use the calendar feature because on the student end, they will see due dates for all their classes. That could be a very useful student tool providing we all use the calendar.
The Canvas app
The Canvas app is pretty good. Students (and instructors) could participate in a discussion from a phone. They could see due dates, read announcements, and check grades. You might want to download it on your phone. Buyer beware: anytime one of you finishes an assignment in our "New Student Orientation" I get a notification on my phone.
