News from the LRC
Our Fall Book Fair will be held during school hours from the afternoon of October 12th until mid-morning on October 19th. We will also be open after school from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on October 17th prior to Home and School's Bingo Night.
We are excited to welcome cookbook author and PBS cooking show host Julia Collin Davison on October 24th. Because of space limitations, she will speak to 4th and 5th grades only, but everyone is welcome to purchase her new cookbook for children. Watch those Thursday folders for more information about this.
Students are once again invited to decorate a pumpkin (the fake kind) to represent a children's book, and to bring it to our gallery in the LRC for the month of October.
Thank you to Brody and Beckett Main, who each donated a book to the LRC!

Home & School President's Letter
We have had an amazing September at Prairie Point! Home and School was able to give each student, EC-5th grade a grade-level T-shirt through the generosity of our local sponsors, our Panther Partners. They are:
Gold Level Sponsors:
Ron Donavon, Keller Williams; Janna Misek, State Farm; Chicago Rush Soccer Club; and Oswego Orthodontics
Silver Level Sponsors:
Ruth Frey, Keller Williams; and All American Recycling
Bronze Level Sponsors:
Rush Copley Healthplex; ACI Brickmaster; HQC; and Carol Guist, Baird & Warner
Thank you to all of our sponsors for making it possible for us to give not only each student a T-shirt, but also each staff member. Everyone looked great at the Panther Fitness Challenge!
Another BIG THANK YOU goes out to all of our Prairie Point students and families. This year, we raised $18,665.70! Amazing! All of that money will come back to our school. We had a beautiful day for the Panther Fitness Challenge, and it was a lot of fun! Thank you all again for your generosity. The students met their goal for number of packets turned in, and will enjoy a special assembly as their reward. Thank you also to our AMAZING committee chairs for the Panther Fitness Challenge: Sarah Eggers, Karen Kelly, and Vickie Nass. This was the final year for all three as they all have 5th graders this year. They will truly be missed! If you are interested in taking over this event for next year, please contact us at homeandschoolprairiepoint@gmail.com
We also had our Father/Son Game Night in the gym on 9/14. 67 families participated and enjoyed games, food, and time together. There was a drawing for free rounds of mini bowling at Luigi’s Pizza for each grade level EC-5th. Thank you to our Father’s Forum for a great event!
October will be another fun month at Prairie Point! Our annual Book Fair/Bingo Night/costume contest is coming up on October 17. Join us after the Book Fair (4-6pm) for Bingo and a Costume Contest from 6-7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
We will finish up the month with our Halloween Parade (2:20pm) and Classroom Parties.
Thank you to all of our volunteers that help make all of these events possible! If you are interested in getting involved in Home and School, please email us at homeandschoolprairiepoint@gmail.com
