Oak Ridge Family Focus
December 16th Edition
End of Quarter Week
This Monday through Thursday, many students will be taking assessments and finishing projects to demonstrate their learning for the quarter. It is extremely important that students not only study and practice to prepare for their assessments, but they get enough rest throughout the week. A good night's sleep each night and a healthy breakfast every morning will go a long way in helping students feel fresh and ready to tackle each day. Then on Friday, we will celebrate our hard work with our Winter Parties!
Winter Party Schedule for Friday
1:15 p.m.
Room party parents may park in the back lot and enter the building through Door 11. Only approved volunteers will be allowed to enter the building to help with room parties. Please remember siblings are not allowed during room parties. Room parent(s)’ IDs and NPD Volunteer Information Form and Waiver must be on file in the office.
1:30 p.m.
Room Parties Begin
2:15 p.m.
Parties end. Parents who are helping with the parties that wish to take their children home early, need to sign them out in the office when they leave.
Reminder
All food and party goods are handled by the PTA room parents. Due to food allergies, students are not allowed to bring in any food for the party. Contact your room parent for further information.

Hippotherapy for Students with Special Needs
"Hippotherapy is a mounted activity utilizing the unique movement patterns of the horse. It is implemented by a PT, OT, or Speech Therapist. The child is not learning riding skills, but is gaining improvements in muscle tone, strength, postural control, balance, and coordination from weight shifts and postural displacement created by the unique horse's gait."
