Kindy White 'Music and Movement' session
A very windy day saw us get the streamers out. The children had great fun waving their brightly coloured streamers in the air in time to the music. They were very excited, as you can see by their facial expressions. They were engaging in physical exercise and developing co-ordination skills in a fun and exhilarating way.
World Refugee Day 20 June
We pray for your children, all over the world, displaced by human disaster. We hear the cries of the suffering; we see the violence in our midst. You sent your Son to be the refuge of people on the move. We ask you to grant all refugees peace, protection, comfort and hope. Help us to recognize that whenever we welcome our sisters and brothers in your name, we welcome you. Teach us to recognise your presence in every human being. Bring us together as one family at the banquet table of your love. Amen
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
I trust you will enjoy looking at the photos of all the crazy hair styles that put a smile on our faces today. Thank you for your wonderfully creative efforts for Crazy Hair Day. All money raised from this event goes to Lifelink which supports more 35 000 West Australians in need each year.
This week is National Refugee Week which we highlight to our community as it provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of refugee communities and their contribution to our society. We open our hearts and our community to refugees ensuring that they feel safe and welcome just like we do for every one of our families.
Reports will be sent home early next week. We ask that you take time to sit and read your child’s report with them. It is important to not only look at grades but at effort too. Determination and perseverance are important influences on academic outcomes and when students believe that their effort leads to progress, they are more likely to work hard and not become discouraged by setbacks. Celebrate your child’s progress and discuss goals they would like to achieve in their learning for Semester Two.
A reminder that school concludes on Wednesday next week.
God bless you all.
Ondine Komnick
Principal
