LEAD Innovation Studio
Vol. 4, Issue 28 - March 19, 2021
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
IN-PERSON LEARNING
Schedule for 3/22-3/26
Shift for In-Person Learners
- We will continue the mitigation strategies we have employed all year, for example: mask-wearing, hand washing/ sanitizing, disinfection of desks, doorknobs, and surfaces, directional hallways and stairwells, and maintaining distance to the extent possible.
- We have made some minor adjustments to our bell schedule to allow for smaller lunch shifts and more space in the cafeteria. Our first, second, fourth, and fifth block "PBL" classes will all be shortened by 5 minutes and our Community Time 3rd block will be 20 minutes longer. This provides additional lunch shifts and additional support from mentors as well as more Personalized Learning Time for our students.
- We will be moving some classrooms. With more students in each class, we have conducted an analysis of classrooms and seating and will be changing locations for some of our classrooms in order to provide additional space for our students.
- We continue to evaluate our arrival and dismissal processes.
We realize this is a major transition for our students, families and staff and are working hard to take every possible step to mitigate risk. We will provide more details regarding our plans next week.
Children's Mercy Fundraiser
The Current Events class is working with Children’s Mercy Hospital to get community involvement in fundraising. We want to know what sort of fundraiser students and parents would want to participate in ages K-12. When you submit the survey you are entered into a raffle to win a prize!

Please note you must declare your selection for In-Person or Online learning for your high school student for next school year by next Friday, 3/26.
Note: Students who select the Park Hill Online Academy will not be LEAD students.
The district sent an email regarding the Park Hill Online Academy for next school year. We have included an excerpt and a link to more information here:
Now we’re hearing from some students and families that they would like to be able to continue to have an online choice, and they want it to be a high-quality option with Park Hill teachers and the Park Hill curriculum.
To make this possible, we are starting with a small, limited program we’re calling the Park Hill Online Academy. Families can sign up their high school students March 16-26, and they can sign up their elementary and middle school students April 5-16.
