Safe Schools - August 6th Exchange Day
1. Beginning June 3, 2019, you will be able to login to the SafeSchools website to access your training. All teachers, librarians, speech therapists, and nurses will use their assigned Employee Identification Number (EIN) to login to the SafeSchools website at http://conroe.tx.safeschools.com/login/ or by going to the CISD homepage under “Employees” and selecting “SafeSchools” in the dropdown menu. a. To login, an employee must know his or her EIN; This number will be the employee’s username in SafeSchools. No password is required. b. If you have trouble logging in, please contact your campus principal.
2. The EINs for new employees will be uploaded every Monday. If you are a new teacher, librarian, speech therapist, or nurse and have not been assigned an EIN, please contact Claire Amos at camos@conroeisd.net or 936-709-7782.
3. Once you have logged into SafeSchools, you will see the list of courses that have been assigned to you. To start a training, click on the course title and follow the prompts. You can start and stop a course at any time, but you must view each page of the training, complete each required scenario, and take each test in order to receive credit. At the end of each course, you must complete the required assessment with 70% accuracy in order to receive credit for the training. The training can be completed on any computer that has access to the Internet.
4. The employee handbook will be added upon its approval. Communication will be sent out to log in to SafeSchools to access and acknowledge you have read and received the employee handbook. 5. Save all certificates of SafeSchools training completion. Be mindful of any position change during, or after, the time of completing required courses. A change in position may change your required courses.
Club Sponsors Needed
We have a few committee/club openings that need to be filled next year. If you are interested in any of them please let me know.
Robotics Team Sponsor - Looking for at least 1 sponsor or 2 teachers that may want to do this together.
Destination Imagination (DI) Sponsor - We would like to have 2 teams. A K-2 team and a 3-4 team. Looking for 2-4 sponsors.
No Place For Hate
Giesinger has earned the No Place for Hate® designation for the 2018-2019 school year! Thank you, Amanda Barton, for leading the charge!
No Place for Hate® is an initiative of the Anti-Defamation League offered free to schools. The initiative is designed to rally the entire school around the goal of creating a welcoming community committed to stopping all forms of bias and bullying.

"Feels Like" Temperature
The “feels like” temperature for recess has been modified. You will receive an Accuweather chart in your box this week for guidance. If the “feel like” temperature is between 95-99 degrees, then you can take your class out for 15 minutes (half of recess). If the “feels like” temperature is 100 degrees then do not go outside for recess.
Safety & Security Building Reminders
- Classrooms and pod offices must stay locked. If the “lock down magnet” does not work on your door then you can put a magnet in the door frame. The door will be closed and locked when the magnet is removed.
- All doors should have a door-width space free from furniture, storage, and supplies in order to safely exit in emergencies.
- Classrooms, closets, and pod offices should have at least 18 inches of clearance from the ceiling.
- Wear your ID badge daily.
- Keep up with your building and classroom keys. Wearing them is an easy way to do that.
- Keep purses in locked drawers or cabinets.
- Keep candles at home and room sprays in cabinets.
- Aerosol sprays are flammable and need to be stored in locked cabinets.
- Economy size hand sanitizers should be kept in cabinets. Smaller bottles are okay for students to use.
